A Day In The Life of an ELC Preschooler

Explorers Learning Center believes each day should be an adventure full of learning and fun! Curious about what a day in the life of a preschooler here looks like? Buckle up, let's dive into a day brimming with joy, discovery, and growth.

Start The Day With excitement!
Mornings at Explorers Learning Center begin with a warm welcome from our friendly staff. After saying goodbye to parents, kids dive into free play. Sometimes this is in the 10,000 sq ft gymnastics facility and sometimes it is in the classroom. Either way, this time allows them to choose their play activities, fostering independence and creativity.

Gather 'Round For Learning Magic!
Next up is **Circle Time**. Here, the Circle Time Helper assists the teacher with songs, stories, and morning announcements. This activity encourages social skills and sets a positive tone for the day.

Learning Through Play and Exploration.
Children move through various **Learning Centers** such as art, science, reading, and puzzles. Small group activities are teacher-led, providing personalized instruction and ensuring everyone gets the attention they need.

Fresh Air And Fun!
Outdoor play follows, where kids can run, climb, and explore. This time is essential for physical development and offers a refreshing break from indoor activities.

Exercise More Than The Brain!
There are days that our Explorers will get to participate in a Gymnastics Class taught by one of our K2 Academy gymnastics coaches! In that class, our ELC Preschoolers will learn how to deal with the physical aspects of gymnastics and fitness, but will also incorporate ABC’s and 123’s, following directions, forming a line, working within a group and mastering independent tasks. All gymnastics events, vault, bars, beam, floor and trampoline, will be incorporated into class.

Refuel And Rest!
After a busy morning, it’s time for lunch. The Lunch Time Helper aids the teacher in setting up and cleaning afterward. Post-lunch, kids enjoy quiet time, perfect for recharging their batteries.

Afternoon Adventures And Tidying Up.
The afternoon includes more small group activities and some one-on-one instruction. Our curriculum alternates between teacher-led and child-directed tasks to keep engagement high. At the end of the day, children help with tidying up, reinforcing responsibility.

Empowering children with daily tasks.
- **Circle Time Helper**: Assists with songs and announcements
- **Door/Light Helper**: Manages doors and lights during transitions
- **Line Leader**: Leads the line during transitions
- **Lunch Time Helper**: Assists in lunch setup and cleanup
These roles build confidence and teach the importance of teamwork.
