We offer four classrooms at Explorers Learning Center:

SCHOOL CARE

We offer before and after school programming for students at the following schools:

  • Lakewood Elementary

  • Hamilton Elementary

  • Black Elementary

  • Canyon Pointe Elementary

  • Willowcreek Elementary

  • Moore Elementary

  • Oakcrest Intermediate

  • Wildwood Elementary

  • Northpoint Intermediate

Curriculum

Our Reggio-inspired curriculum is both structured and flexible, blending thematic units with an emergent curriculum style. This means while we have clear learning objectives and daily plans, we also encourage teachers to explore topics that captivate children's interests. By integrating children's questions and curiosities into the curriculum, we foster a love of learning and ensure that education is relevant and engaging.

Key elements of our curriculum include:

  • Project-Based Learning: Children work on projects that span days or weeks, allowing for in-depth exploration and understanding of various subjects.

  • Interdisciplinary Learning: We integrate subjects such as art, science, mathematics, and literacy into cohesive learning experiences.

  • Documentation: Children's work is documented and displayed, not only to celebrate their achievements but also to inform and inspire future learning.

Job Opportunities

Before and/or After School care Teacher

Explorers Learning Center's After-school care program is much more than childcare. We offer homework help, open gym time, and many kids choice activities.  If you enjoy being a positive influence in a child's day, you might be the right fit for us!

Responsibilities include:

  • Following lesson plans and activity schedules

  • Providing loving and enthusiastic child care

  • Ensuring the safety of all students and staff

  • Assisting with homework

  • Assisting with snacks

  • Guiding students in appropriate behavior and setting a good example

  • Giving students a fun and memorable summer experience

  • Making Explorer's a fantastic place to play and learn

Schedule:

  • 20-40 hours per week

  • Flexible shifts available

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • At least 1 year of experience (paid or volunteer) working with children

  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
